Choosing the best hair accessories for THE DAY
Your hairstyle can best determine the hair accessory that will look best. The most common mistake we all make is that we choose our hair accessories before knowing the hair style that we will wear on that day. This sometime may not be a good sign, coz you might buy a hair clip while the style doesn't require a clip but rather a comb or crown.

Below are a few accessories that I found and since they aren't too common I found it worth sharing...

Balloons Galore wedding theme

Baloons Galore

Balloons are an affordable and fun way to decorate for your wedding. We recommend that you choose only three or four balloon ideas for the reception so as not to block anyone’s view during the festivities.
Colors
o White, pink, silver, gold, or clear balloons work great. Clear balloons can hold confetti or other balloons inside of them.
Decorations

o Simple balloon arches are relatively easy to make and create a lot of impact. Directions: Take a strong piece of string and cut it to the length you want your arch to be, plus 2 feet. Then tie a 6 inch piece of string to the bottom of each helium filled balloon. Begin tying the balloons to the long piece of string until you can no longer see the string (leave 1 foot of string at each end for tying onto things).
o Tie a balloon arch to every three rows of pews. You can walk under them as you head toward the altar. No need for pew bows!
o Gather fabric around any can of food and tie with a string. Then tie clusters of eight to ten helium balloons with 6 foot long pieces of string or ribbon to the gathered area. Place one cluster on either side of the cake table or buffet table and at the entrance to the reception area. These clusters can be placed into large potted plants or set at each corner of a dance floor.
Additional Details

o How about a balloon drop during the reception? The nets can be rented.
o You could give the balloons as favors by tying one to the back of each guest chair or wine glass.
o Balloons can be incorporated into a variety of flower arrangements or unique centerpieces. Check with your florist.
o Include a balloon theme on your invitations.

Marrying your baby daddy/mummy

This has just turned to be a common trait all around the world. At least in my country most couples get married after having kids or when they are expecting. And all this time I have been wondering how does this happen and why is it that way? But one of my friends once told me "wanaogopa kuuziwa mbuzi kwenye gunia" meaning they want to confirm that none of them is impotent. I laughed about the matter but at some point I felt it might be true.

But another question pops into my mind isn't marriage meant to be for better and for worse and that inclusive? Anyway it doesn't matter all I want to share with you today is this article I found as I was searching for answers to my so many questions in relation to this topic.

These days more couples are having children before they walk down the aisle. Whether you agree with it or not, it’s still a beautiful thing when they finally take the leap. But there’s some profane feeling that after you have kids marriage is no longer relevant. Somehow the kids become the only priority. However, shouldn't the priority be the relationship? Because without a solid relationship between the couple that is legalized, sound, and court and community approved (aka marriage licensed), anything can happen. A happy mommy and daddy make a happy baby.

3) Communicate with your man in a nonverbal way what you expect. Come up with a plan on how to get there. Do not set ultimatums, but be creative.

4) Begin shopping for rings and wedding options together. Fake it till you make it.

5) Research all the financial and legal benefits to being married. In some instances there are tax advantages, and home financing options not as easily available to singles.

We normally get our friends, cousins or friends of friends to be our bridesmaids. There is no problem with that but do these girls know their roles, or is it just the ceremonial parts that look at.
From the western origin, bridesmaids are not just ceremonial, but rather part of the bridal crew. Here are few things that a bridesmaid should do during the wedding day.

A bridesmaid is to give moral support to the bride through the entire wedding process.

Play as an advisor where necessary, i.e. advice on the music, food, decoration and partly planning if possible

The bride’s family prepares farewell parties for their girl where in this matter there is the sendoff party and kitchen party. Help plan this party as a team and make your bride happy.

Move around with the bride when you have time to help with shopping and following up on important items for the wedding

Keep track of her to do list most of the time so as to avoid missing out some important tasks before the big day.

Help the bride and groom with ensuring the security of their gifts in case of gifts being brought to the reception. Otherwise you advise the guests and friends on location where the gifts are to be addressed.

This is from my own experience as once my brother told me if there were awards for being either a flower girl or bridesmaid, then I would qualify for that. As far as I remember I started being a flower girl at the age of 4 till when I was 9, and trust me there were countless weddings. At the age of 16 I started being a bridesmaid in countless wedding to date.
But it was until I was 21 when I realized all this was not just being ceremonial but it was about responsibilities.
This is to all the bridesmaids out there… Be the best you can and remain a good memory to the bride.

Everyone calls it the royal wedding... The one thing I loved about this wedding was, the bride gave her all to it and she did it all well. The makeup, hair and the dresses were just beautiful.

Maza always deal with brides but this time she had to entrust someone else to deal with her. And it was a job well done, though I feel there were points she had to intervene to get what she wanted.

Cut down Your Reception and Catering Budget

It has always been a nightmare planning for the wedding especially on the budget sector. Not to worry anymore, because we are seeing a solution to it…
For sure, no one has ever dreamt of a bad wedding, everyone dreams of a wedding that will stand above the rest. But the problem comes to the budget, no bride and groom has unlimited budget for that dream come true wedding. Let’s see how we can save and STILL have a spectacular event. This budget promises to minimize your financial constraints and maximize the enjoyment to its satisfaction and still have a unique style.

1. Transform seating plan

The trend here is to do away with formal seating and create a cocktail feel. Switch formal tables to high tops or even consider adding a lounge area. You can still reserve a small area with formal seating for older, VIP guests and those with small children if you like, but encourage the rest of your guests to mix and mingle, move around, and generally table hop to ensure lots of mingling and socializing.

2. Go with a Buffet Menu

Considering most people nowadays are on diets, have food allergies etc. a buffet could be ideal for the occasion as they will have a number of options that they can choose from rather than having a stuck with few options. In your buffet you can opt to have a number of bites with salads instead real meals i.e. mishikaki (fish, chicken, beef etc). Opt for 10-15 dishes and space them out throughout the evening so everyone has a chance to try something without filling up on one item.

3. Offer Cocktail Flight Samples during the First Hour

Worry about being stuck with one too many bottles of beer or wine? While you're getting your pictures snapped after the ceremony, have your serving staffs prepare "flights" or small samples from your cocktail menu to try. Whether it's five microbrews, a trio of cocktails, or even a few different wine varieties, this allows your guests to taste-test each one and then settles for a specific beverage that they like. This should cut down on your costs AND make that post-wedding hour fly by for your friends as they learn more about each drink on the menu.

4. Cut Down on Wedding Cake

We've said it before and we'll say it again: Not everyone likes wedding cake, so before you drop a bundle on a 6-tier confection, think about reducing the amount of cake you plan on ordering. A mini 2-tier cake is just as lovely, plus it frees up your budget to create a fun dessert bar or candy station. There are lots of options that exist when it comes to dessert, but also think about accompanying elements like a cool coffee station if you're serving traditional desserts. (If you feel like being creative AND a bit more interactive we think a mini "do-it-yourself" parfait station with granola and fresh fruit is great, as is a topping station for frozen yogurt.)

5. Be your Own DJ

We still think having a traditional DJ or band is important, but it may not be necessary for the entire duration of your reception. You can prepare a number of CDs with songs that you like, in this case you can include interests of family, friends and some few guests. From oldies but goodies to modern dance tunes, it'll keep everyone up on their feet and engaged as they wait for their special song to play.
