When they when you are in love you can do just about anything, I never thought it might get this far...
An engineer created a unique ring for his girl all in the name of love:
This is his story!!
Once upon a time, a boy met a girl. Then a short amount of time
later, the boy decided to design and build a ring for the girl, because
doing things in the most complicated way possible is just what he does
to show the love. This is that story.
It starts off in Jan of 2013 where the idea for the ring was refined
to what will ultimately be the final form. Several designs were
considered and were rejected because of exotic material requirements,
machining geometry limitations or violating the laws of physics. It was a
fun exercise to explore potential and unique designs, but at the end of
the day, I still needed to make her something that I could present and
that didn't look like it was carved with a spoon.
The final idea was to embed a LED and copper coil assembly inside the
titanium ring, illuminating it from under the stones when it was in
close proximity to an induced alternating magnetic field (henceforth
called 'the transmitter'). Autodesk Inventor helped me develop all of
the dimensions and constraints for the design. Having some help, I was
able to obtain her ring size and the rest of the measurements were based
from there.
So, the original plan was to present this ring to the girl, then take
her to a professional jeweler the next day to pick out something more
permanent. Well, she insists that I change the design on this ring to
make it more permanent and forgo a professionally made ring. There was a
small hitch with the ring as shown above. Due to a small
miscalculation, the internal diameter is now about 15.6mm, which is a
really tight fit for her 15.72mm finger. I was able to cut a new ring
and mount the remaining stones for a more comfortable fit. So in the
near future, she will be wearing this ring while I work on a permanent
design.
What would you do for the one you love? Please share!!!

Food for thought...
15 minutes before your wedding starts, you get a phone call in which you are awarded a 400million dollars contract. On one condition that you be at the office to sign the contract. You have 20 minutes to do so or else its too late.

The Best Man...
Being chosen as the best man at
a wedding is a great honor and every man secretly wishes to be chosen. When the
groom selects you, it is an indication that you are very close to him. If
chosen, you are supposed to perform these duties and responsibilities.
- The first thing you should do is to assist the groom in making all arrangements. Be part of the organizers and help them with ideas where need be.
- You are supposed to attend the wedding rehearsal. It is usually done one or two days to the wedding.
- If there is no hired car, you are supposed to drive the groom from home to the church, from the church to the reception. Ask for instruction on where you are supposed to drive the him.
- You are supposed to show up early on the wedding day and assist the husband-to-be with whatever he might need. You should be there early for pre-wedding photographs with the husband-to-be.
- You should walk in with the maid/matron of honor when the ceremony begins
- The best man can be requested to keep the ring until the pastor asks for it.
- You are supposed to exit with the maid of honor at the end of the ceremony. Do not let the groom leave alone.
- It is the best man’s responsibility to know about all the necessary payments are being made in time i.e. honeymoon etc.
- The best man is supposed to give a speech at the reception. Dance with the maid of honor if asked to...

Including the Bridegroom in Your Wedding Preparations

For many grooms their wedding day
has been a passing thought throughout their lives while for the bride it may
have been bordering on an obsession for the better part. Even so, it is
important that the bridegroom be a part of the wedding plans as much as
possible. There are certain duties that are traditionally his while
others are a joint responsibility between the bride and groom. Some of
the joint responsibilities include creating the guest list. Start by
writing down close relatives on both sides, then those that are more
distant. After that, write down your close friends and acquaintances that
you would both like to invite.
As the bridegroom you want to select
your own best man. If you have someone in mind be sure to ask him to
stand with you on your big day. Get a confirmation of willingness and
acceptance from him and then ask other close friends and relatives to be your
groomsmen. It will be up to you to coordinate them so make sure that
together you select the clothes you would like wear and what each person will
be paying for. Make sure that the bride is consulted in these choices
because she likely is quite concerned about color coordination, fabrics,
designs and other such things that you may not think of right off the bat.
One of the duties that traditionally
lie with the bridegroom is planning the honeymoon. Whatever you select it
needs to be something that both you and bride enjoy. It is best that you
start early so that you can take advantage of any early bird discounts.
Look for honeymoon packages that have special offers and if you feel inadequate
in this area, make use of a good travel agent. It is best to plan to
travel the day after the wedding and preferably in the afternoon or late
morning. For your wedding night, stay at a hotel close to where your
reception or evening party is so that you are not running to the airport or
driving long distances to get to the hotel.
